Low Carbon Shipping Seascape series: Shipping's climate risks & opportunities - Webinar recording
In April 2018, the shipping industry became the first international sector to have committed to a sector wide GHG target of reducing emissions by ‘at least’ 50% by 2050. To achieve this ambition will require a combination of short, mid and long-term policy measures that enable the sector to switch to zero carbon fuels by 2030. This webinar discusses the risks and opportunities associated with this transition.
Bringing together leading experts from UMAS, the webinar dives into details around the following themes:
- Regulations - outcomes of ISWG-GHG 4 & MEPC 73, short and mid to long-term measures outlook
- Technologies & fuels - Technology and fuel trends in different sectors and fuel outlook in shipping
- Climate risks - investor-led initiatives and alignment happening in the private sector including finance and chartering
